Federal Civil Defence Directorate Islamabad.

The Civil Defence Organisation is a continuation of the volunteer Air Raid Precaution units that existed before 1951. In the same year, the Civil Defence (Special Powers) Ordinance, 1951 (VI of 1951), which eventually became the Civil Defence Act, 1952, and the Civil Defence Rules 1966 and 1968, were also passed.  

 In Pakistan, civil defence and emergency services are provided by the Directorate General of Civil Defence. A division of Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior is the Directorate General of Civil Defence. 

 The National Institute of Fire Technology in Islamabad and the Civil Defence Academy in Lahore are both run by the Directorate General of Civil Defence. 

 Every province has a home department that oversees its provincial civil defence departments. Consequently, the following departments make up Civil Defence.  

Civil Defence Department Islamabad Capital Territory 

Civil Defence Department Punjab 

Civil Defence Department Sindh 

Civil Defence Department Baluchistan 

Civil Defence Department KPK 

Civil Defence Department Gilgit Baltistan 

Civil Defence Department Azad Jammu And Kashmir 

Civil Defence Departments at the district level are responsible for each Department, which is further broken down into Organisation Wing and Departmental staff. The Civil Defence Organisation is a continuation of the volunteer Air Raid Precaution units that existed before 1951. In the same year, the Civil Defence (Special Powers) Ordinance, 1951 (VI of 1951), which eventually became the Civil Defence Act, 1952, and the Civil Defence Rules 1966 and 1968, were also passed. Its official name is the 1951 Civil Defence Special Powers Rules.  

Federal Civil Defence is providing free Civil Defence / Fire Fighting Training to all government servants, semi-government servants, private industries, and volunteers through it nine Training Institutes in the major cities of Pakistan. Boarding and lodging facilities are also available to a limited number of people.
